Over 13,000 people in the US have contracted Monkeypox, and the number of new cases has been almost doubling every week. 94% of all people who have caught the disease are men who have sex with men. Florida is 3rd in the country for new cases, and the number of new cases in South Florida has increased by 40% in the past week. While some of these cases are transmitted through sexual activity, crowed gay bars and social scenes were people are pressed together are also a cause of the spread, as well as infection through shared gym equipment. The largest number of cases is in Gen Z and Millenials, with 76.5% of all cases being in males ages 18 to 44. As the Gen Z crowd finishes high school and begins to explore the bars and parties of older LGBTQ+ adults, are they taking precautions?
