FOR THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY THERE IS CELEBRATION TODAY ON THE FINAL OUTCOME OF DONALD J. TRUMP. HISTORY WAS MADE ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13 AS THE PRESIDENT FACED AN IMPEACHMENT RESOLUTION IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. HISTORY WILL TAKE NOTE THE FACT THAT DEBATE ON THE RESOLUTION WAS LIMITED TO APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS. THERE WERE NO HEARINGS, WITNESSES OR ANY OF THE USUAL ISSUES BECAUSE THE SEDITION CHARGES SEEMED TO BE SO OVERWHELMING IT WAS NOT REQUIRED FOR MOST REPRESENTATIVES. HISTORY WAS ALSO MADE IN THAT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME A PRESIDENT WAS IMPEACHED TWICE. IT WAS HUMILIATING FOR THE PRESIDENT. THE DEBATE ENDED AT 4:50 PM EST. THE DEMOCRATS MOSTLY DISCUSSED THE ATTACK ON THE CAPITOL AND THE REASONS THIS WAS SEDITION. THE REPUBLICANS BASICALLY MADE TWO ARGUMENTS FOCUSING ON ALL THE SUCCESSES OF TRUMP IN THE LAST FOUR YEARS AND THAT HE ONLY HAD ONE WEEK LEFT IN OFFICE. BUT THOSE ARGUMENTS COULD NOT OVERCOME THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM. LIZ CHENEY, THE 3RD MOST POWERFUL REPUBLICAN IN THE HOUSE, AND DAUGHTER OF VICE PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY WROTE A LETTER REPEATEDLY QUOTED DURING THE DEBATE INCLUDING EXTENSIVELY IN THE FINAL ARGUMENTS BY THE HOUSE LEADER. CHENEY SAID “"Much more will become clear in coming days and weeks, but what we know now is enough. The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President. The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not. There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution. I will vote to impeach the President."
Trump Makes History. He is Impeached. Twice.
