Yesterday, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation filed an administrative complaint against R House restaurant in Wynwood. The complaint was founded on a TikTok video that shows children in the crowd of the restaurant drag brunch. At a press conference this afternoon, Governor DeSantis said, “We said wait a minute, having kids involved in this is wrong. That is not consistent with our law and policy in the state of Florida and it is a disturbing trend in our society to try to sexualize these young people. That is not the way you look out for our children, you protect children, you do not expose them to things that are inappropriate. The brunch is normally hosted by Athena Dion who is currently in Greece, and frequently features Queer News Tonight anchors and guests like Jasmine Pryce Lords, Tiffany Fantasia, and others. R House risks losing its liquor license over the complaint.
