The National Hockey League (NHL) has reportedly prohibited players from showing LGBTQ+ support by issuing a league-wide ban on Pride Tape. The new ban will bar players from using Pride Tape during games, warm-ups, or even practices. As a result, one of the few remaining ways that players can show their allyship has been revoked. The move comes just a few months after NHL commissioner Gary Bettman confirmed that teams would no longer be allowed to wear Pride jerseys during warm-up sessions this season, stating that they were seen as a distraction. He clarified that teams could still host specialty nights, including Pride Night, and create and sell merchandise to support charities associated with the causes. But, it seems the league is wagging its finger and warning teams to not go too far
