A new online poll by the CDC shows that men who have sex with men have reduced their sexual activities by almost half due to monkeypox. The disease has now been detected in all 50 states, and men who have sex with men make up the largest number of people infected. The survey conducted August 5th through 15th shows that 48% of those questioned have reduced the number of sex partners they have. 50% have reduced the number of one-time encounters, and 49% have reduced the amount of sex they have with partners found on hookup apps. While the disease is generally mild and easy to deal with, there is a variant of the virus that can be deadly for 1 in 10 individuals, especially those with compromised immune systems.
