This week saw primaries in Illinois, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Utah. Eric Sorensen won his democratic primary in Illinois, putting him on track to become the first LGBTQ+ lawmaker in the state. In Colorado, incumbent gay Governor Jared Polis won his primary unopposed, and Colorado's first transgender representative Brianna Titone also kept the democratic nomination for her re-election run. In Oklahoma, nonbinary lawmaker Representative Mauree Turner beat their challenger in the democratic primary, and in Utah, Senator Derek Kitchen currently leads his opponent in the primary.
