Voting is open for Out South Florida’s “Your Choice Awards” - And nominees truly represent the best of what makes South Florida’s LGBTQ+ community so great. I went to an Ice Cream party at Wilton Creamery where SunServe celebrated their 14 nominations, spanning everything from trans services to housing insecurity to best celebrity - CEO Tony Lima. By the way - Wilton Creamery is also up for best Ice Cream. Glen Weinzimer and his crew at Bona Italia are up for Best Italian and Best Restaurant in Wilton and Matthew, seen here with Glen, is up for Best Server. It’s easy to vote - go to OutSFL dot com and pick a county - you can vote in each county once per day. Then the categories, like this one, will come up. Carefully consider on your choice, and boom! Tho I joke, I am serious when I say I’m honored to be nominated for TV Personality along with my former WSVN colleague Craig Stevens, our fearless leader Al Ferguson, and reigning champ, FayWhat?! I was also recently honored by the Society of Professional Journalists for hyper-local coverage of Wilton Manors and obituary writing. What these awards and nominations say is that our professional peers believe we are serving our community well, and that the community is paying attention.
