Representative Ian Mackey and Rep. Chuck Basye had a heated exchange on the House Floor over a bill that would block transgender athletes from competing in sports. Opponents of the bill argue that the bill is highly discriminatory, since Missouri law already states that transgender high school students must already be undergoing Hormone Replacement Therapy in order to compete in sports. In the past decade, only 2 transgender girls have been approved to compete in high school sports in the state.
