Yesterday saw mid-term primaries in 5 key states across the country, and the results both give us hope and cause us fear. The elections saw prominent LGBTQ+ wins, such as Tina Kotek's win of the Democratic Primary for the Oregon Governor's seat and the loss of ant-LGBTQ+ and Trump endorsed Madison Cawthorn. In North Carolina, the winner of the Democratic Primary for Madison Cawthorn's 11th Congressional District was Jasmine Beach-Ferrara, an out member of the LGBTQ+ community. In Pennsylvania, all 4 LGBTQ+ candidates lost their primaries. The election also showed that Trumpism still has power over the Republican party, as 23 of the 27 candidates that the former President endorsed won their primaries.
