The LGBTQ+ community and law enforcement have had a long and tumultuous relationship. While there are many who feel uncomfortable around law enforcement, there are also many who have fought to be able to work within the police to try and help improve the community. Those factions are now clashing in San Francisco as the board of SF Pride has said that LGBTQ+ uniformed officers cannot march in the parade. While the police department will be on hand providing safety to the crowd, they are being told they are not allowed to celebrate their Pride. San Francisco Mayor London Breed has also said she will not participate in the Pride Parade in solidarity with the uniformed workers.
