On Thursday, Queer News Tonight reported on the news that US Rep. Mike Johnson had, along with 32 other Republicans, introduced a federal version of Florida's 'Don't Say Gay' bill. The federal bill expands the wording to cover any federally-funded facility, including public resource such as libraries from discussing or providing materials that in any way discuss gender identity or sexual identity with children ages 10 and under. The bill, called the 'Stop The Sexualization of Children Act', cashes in on the 'groomer' narrative while ignoring the harm it could cause for children who are dealing with their own identities being ignored much needed resources. The wording of the bill blocks any federally-funded facility, including health care providers, from discussing with children "any topic involving gender identity, gender dysphoria, transgenderism, sexual orientation, or related subjects." #politics
