Data from the Pew Research shows that Republicans could be in big trouble during the mid-terms, and largely in thanks to their own narratives. The Republican base is largely rural, evangelical, white, and frequently uneducated. As minority populations grow and more and more voters are pursuing higher education, the number of people who identify with the Republican base is declining. Uneducated voters may be easier to swing with speaking points that are not evidence-based, but they are also more likely to become disenfranchised with voting because of it. Especially narratives about "stolen elections" that make them feel like getting out to vote doesn't matter. In rural areas where voting is already difficult, that means fewer and fewer people are voting Republican.
