Queer News Tonight Is Proud To Showcase Many Of The Film Directors During The 23rd Annual OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival - Miami Edition As Happening Out Television Network Serves As Their Premier Sponsor And Tonight, We Are Pleased To Feature The Film "Can You Bring It: Bill T. Jones And D-Man In The Waters". This Feature Documentary Traces The History And Legacy Of One Of The Most Important Works Of Art To Come Out Of The Age Of AIDS. In 1989, D-Man In The Waters Gave Physical Manifestation To The Fear, Anger, Grief, And Hope For Salvation That The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company Felt As They Were Embattled By The AIDS Epidemic. As A Group Of Young Dancers Reconstructs The Dance In The Present Day, They Learn About This Oft Forgotten History And Deepen Their Understanding Of The Power Of Art In A Time Of Plague. Joining Us Tonight Are Co-Directors Rosalynde Leblanc & Tom Hurwitz. Rosalunde’s Career As A Performer, Choreographer, And Educator Spans Over Twenty-Five Years. She Danced With The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, Mikhail Baryshnikov’s White Oak Dance Project, And With Many Independent Choreographers. She Is Currently An Associate Professor And Chair Of The Dance Program At Loyola Marymount University. Tom Is One Of America’s Most Honored Documentary Filmmakers. Winner Of Two Emmy Awards, The Sundance And Jerusalem Film Festival Awards For Best Cinematography, He Has Photographed Films That Have Won 4 Academy Awards And Several More Nominations.
