On Friday, last week, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor allowed Yeshiva University to refuse to recognize an LGBT student club. The Yeshiva University is a private Jewish university in New York City that claims that the said violates its religious values. It temporarily blocked a judge's ruling that states the university should accept the club. A Yeshiva University lawyer, Eric Baxter said in a statement that the university is grateful to see that Justice Sotomayor stepped in to protect Yeshiva’s religious liberty in this case. Katherine Rosenfeld, a lawyer for the LGBT club, said it will wait for a final order from the court. She promised to remain committed to creating a safe space for LGBT students on the university's campus. #Education #QNT
