First let’s talk When an elderly transgender woman in Maine tried to enter an assisted living facility, she was denied because of her status as part of the transgender community. Marie King, a 79 year old long-time activist, didn’t take the decision lightly and brought Sunrise Assisted Living to court. Recently she won her case and the facility has to adopt a comprehensive transgender nondiscrimination policy and require its employees and administrators to undergo LGBTQ competency training. What are we all talking about?
