The LGBTQ+ Community and allies are putting their money where their feet are! After weeks of divisive attacks in Tallahassee and across the country, a day of celebration and community is finally upon us. The Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival is this Saturday. It’s one of AHF’s biggest fundraisers of the year to fight HIV/AIDS. In this week’s SFGN, online and on stands tomorrow, I preview this weekend’s event. I talk with AHF’s Imara Canady, who stresses the importance of fighting the disease, as South Florida continues to be one of the biggest areas in the nation for new infections. I talk with Stacy Hyde of Broward House, a new affiliate of AHF. They’re fielding a team of walkers, and Stacy says it gets emotional, because many of their clients get to see, first hand, how many total strangers truly care about them. The amazing Deborah Cox and Jessie-J will be rocking the party on the main stage which will be hosted by Happening Out Television's own Kitty Meow - I can’t wait, cuz I’m totally gonna fan girl!
