As National Women’s History Month comes to a close, it’s important to reflect on the significance of this month for queer women. While it’s great to have a dedicated month to celebrate and recognize women’s contributions to society, there’s a question of whether it’s enough.
LGBTQ+ women are even more marginalized than the men’s GBTQ+ community. There are specific types of violence that target queer women, even when they are closeted. Lesbians are at risk of physical violence, sexual harassment, and arbitrary arrest by police.
