Broward school libraries will remove a sexually explicit teen graphic novel that Gov. Ron DeSantis’s administration categorized as “pornography.” The book “Let’s Talk About It: The Teen’s Guide to Sex, Relationships, and Being a Human” was in the libraries of three schools, Fort Lauderdale High, Coral Glades High in Coral Springs, and Nova High in Davie. Happening Our Television Network is proudly celebrating Black History Month to remember and acknowledge the trailblazers from the community. Tonight we are honoring the courage of Ernestine Eckstein, who put her life on the line to speak out for queer rights. Ernestine Delois Eppenger, who used the pen name Ernestine Eckstein was the first Black woman to grace the cover of The Ladder, which was produced by the influential lesbian rights group The Daughters of Bilitis. She made a name for herself as a Black female protester at the first “Annual Reminder,” a gay rights demonstration that preceded Stonewall by four years. She never looked back after that.
