The LGBTQ+ community in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has been the target of yet another act of vandalism, which the city’s gay mayor, Dean Trentalis, has described as part of a “creeping level of hate” towards the LGBTQ+ community in the city.
Celebrating the achievements made to date while acknowledging the work still to be done, fifty thousand turned out to make history as they marched across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge as part of Sydney WorldPride’s Pride March.
Hotspots Magazine and Happening Out Television Network will have a special program in Wilton Manors as part of the city’s Black History Month. The focus of the event will be discussing the state of the black community in Wilton Manors and South Florida. We will be talking about what’s important to the LGBTQ+ black community and how to improve going forward. We are inviting you to participate in this significant and special event. All the hosts will be from the black community and all stories will be about the LGBTQ+ black community. Do not forget to mark your calendar for this event.
The start of February is also the start of Black History Month. As part of marking the occasion, The Cookout will be held at Mickel Park in Wilton Manors on February 4 from 1-6 p.m.
