The National LGBTQ Task Force is urging an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and condemning violence in Israel and Palestine. The call comes ahead of their Creating Change Conference in New Orleans. In a recent Instagram post, the Task Force stated that its mission is to build power, take action, and create change to achieve freedom, justice, and equity for LGBTQ+ people and mentioned that the root reason for the conflict lies in fascism, white supremacy, and colonialism. A Wider Bridge, a U.S.-based organization for LGBTQ+ people and allies with a focus on Israel and its LGBTQ+ communities has sharply criticized the Task Force over its ceasefire statement.
