National LGBTQ Task Force Gala is Back on October 14

The 2023 National LGBTQ Task Force Gala will celebrate the 50th anniversary of leading the fight for LGBTQ+ liberation in the United States. The event will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Iconic performer Latrice Royale and award-winning actor, singer, filmmaker, writer, and dancer Dyllón Burnside will be welcomed as emcees of the gala. The gala will begin at 6:30 pm, featuring a cocktail reception, a sprawling and spectacular silent auction, a sit-down dinner, an awards ceremony, and the AfterGlow Ball, with a DJ and dancing. Special performances by Anne Steele, Robbie Elias, and Tango Liberated are also scheduled for the evening. The gala is a key fundraiser supporting the social justice work of the task force. A significant portion of the proceeds from the gala will be donated to community partner organizations in South Florida. Tickets are available at TheTaskForceGala.org.

    A transgender advocate and health care practitioner. She has extensive education and experience in HIV prevention and health care that relates to transgender individuals. She currently works as the Program Coordinator with Transinclusive Group and is the owner of Tender Loving Care Trans Mentoring. She received the Bishop SF Makalani Mahee Transgender Advocate Award in 2019 and has received many other awards. She serves on the National Board of Governors of the Human Rights Campaign and is on the Board of Directors for the Dolphin Democrats and Black LGBTQ Liberation. She is a member of several civic and political organizations like NAACP, and the Florida LGBTQ Democratic Caucus, and attends Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
