“God Forbid: The Sex Scandal That Brought Down a Dynasty,” a Hulu documentary from the director Billy Corben, concerns a sensational, high-profile affair between Giancarlo Granda, a pool attendant at a luxury hotel in Miami Beach, Fla., and Becki Falwell, the wife of the prominent Republican evangelist Jerry Falwell Jr. whom Granda claims participated in these relations as a silent voyeur. At the time, Falwell Jr. was the president and chancellor of one of the nation’s largest Christian colleges, Liberty University, and one of the best-known evangelical supporters of former President Donald J. Trump. Documentary director Billy Corben joined Meet the Press NOW to discuss Falwell’s impact on the presidential race. After telling his story to Reuters, Granda was ready to go on camera about his past relations with the evangelical couple. The result is the new Hulu documentary. Granda claims that Falwell Jr., a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, was aware of and involved in the relationship he was having with Becki Falwell. As Mr. Granda tells it, he was working as an attendant at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach in 2012 when a poolside Mrs. Falwell invited him back to her room, the one condition being that her husband wanted to watch. Over time, emotions got involved, and so did money along with commercial real estate, an extortion plot, photographs, videos, and Michael Cohen, then-lawyer to a pre-presidential Donald Trump. #religion
