In a surprising incident during a green demonstration in a French village, a French nun was captured on camera tackling a climate activist to the ground. Fox News reports that the protest on October 14 was against the construction of a new church structure in Saint-Pierre-de-Colombier. Environmental activists from the eco-group Les Amis de la Bourges ('friends of the village') gathered to voice their concerns. On the other side, a group of Missionary Family of Notre Dame nuns formed a human chain around the construction site to prevent the activists.
The incident, recorded on video and shared on various social media platforms, captured the moment when the activist was sprinting across a muddy field with what appeared to be building supplies. The nun was seen grasping the man's arm, causing them to lose balance and fall to the ground. The incident took place away from the new religious center's construction site. After the confrontation, the nuns resumed a more peaceful stance, singing while blocking the surrounding protesters. Approximately ten police officers were present in the area. The environmentalist group argues that the construction poses a threat to several rare plant species that have not been adequately protected.
