Today Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law a new mandate passed by the state legislature, largely on partisan lines, titled the “Parental Rights In Education” Bill. It’s opponents have rebranded it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, as it bans teachers, staff and others from discussing sexual orientation and gender identity in schools. Also today The Washington Post has published an exhaustive history of Anti-LGBTQ measures in Florida that have helped lead to this moment in Florida and America.
