There is a unique of Opera and LGBTQ rights taking place on February 23 at 7:30 pm. Taking inspiration from the opera Fellow Travelers, key community stakeholders compare lives from the effects of McCarthyism and our progression as a society. Growing Up LGBTQ, these journeys are personal and hard to quantify. For many, coming out is a lifelong process that can require a different approach because of cultural norms or traditions that emphasize duty to family and community. The interesting thoughts and discussions help reframe the principles around coming out. Moderators by Queer News Tonight anchor Tony Lima, panelists including HappeningOut.Travel news show anchor Fay What, also performing artist June Romero, Pride Center at Equality Park Executive Director Robert Boo and Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida Executive Director Mark Kent.
