Former county clerk Kim Davis, who refused to issue marriage licenses in Kentucky to same-sex couples, will now have to pay a total of $260,104 in fees and expenses to attorneys who represented one couple. That's in addition to $100,000 in damages she should pay the couple who sued. Attorneys for Davis argued that the fees and costs were excessive, but U.S. District Judge David L. Bunning disagreed. This all began in 2015 when Davis denied marriage licenses to a same-sex couple based on a belief that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. She was jailed briefly over this decision.
