Charlize Theron says that the efforts to curb the rights of drag performers is driven by fear and ignorance. In the opening episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16, Theron talked to contenders about the present anti-drag climate in the country. She said that the truth of what the drag community is and what it represents will come out. Theron has previously spoken out about her support of the drag community. Last year, during the Drag Isn’t Dangerous event, Charlize shared a video message that said, “I will f*anybody up who’s trying to f* with anything with you guys.” The event raised more than $500,000.
