According to the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, there are at least 1,008 openly LGBTQ+ candidates running for public office this year, beating the previous record of 1,006 set in 2020. The candidates are also more diverse, with 100 more people of color running for office than in 2020. Here in Florida we have many LGBTQ+ candidates for state-level and national-level politics, like Todd Delmay, Shevrin Jones, Adam Gentle, Janelle Perez, and Michele Rayner. The Gayest Place on Planet Earth has 2 out of 3 candidates for City Commission confirmed as openly gay, Don D'Arminio and Paul Rolli.
