The LGBTQ+ community in South Florida celebrated outstanding philanthropists at the Our Fund Philanthropy Awards, held at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, February 18. The annual awards reception is a platform for recognizing those who dedicate their time, talent, and treasure to the LGBTQ+ community of South Florida.
Among the four recipients of the Philanthropy Awards was Queer News Tonight anchor, Jeff Oliverio, who received the Next Generation of Philanthropy Award. Jeff has been an integral part of the community, serving as Chair for the National LGBTQ Task Force Gala Miami and as a founding member and Treasurer of the Hollywood LGBTQ+ Council. Additionally, he has been serving as Chair for the Truist PRIDE Business Resource Group for South Florida.
The other three honorees were Nik Harris, Chuck Nicholas, and Didier Moritz & Erwin Mayer, who were recognized for their contributions to the LGBTQ+ community of South Florida.
Bank of America presented the awards to the deserving philanthropists. The honorees and guests were treated to a cocktail reception in the lower courtyard before the ceremony in the Mary Porter Riverview Ballroom.
