Sorry folks, the party is over. Yesterday was "Fat Tuesday" and for those who don't know the origins, Mardi Gras is the last day before Lent. The 40 days of Lent represent the 40 days that Jesus spent fasting in the desert, and during that time the holy give up all indulgences. In modern times, most of us are not so holy. Most people only give up one vice for the month, such as chocolate, alcohol, or sex. Or, most commonly, nothing at all and we only say we did. For those of you who are religious, or even if you're the kind of person who only goes to church on holidays, we remind everyone that the live Ash Wednesday services here at Sunshine Cathedral began at 7:00. You can watch it on their Facebook or YouTube LIVE, or any time on demand. For those of you who worship, we hope you have an easy fast.
