Hernandez, who is 18 and non-binary, said they took five hours getting ready for the event. The TikTok video of the crowning is captioned, "King...Queen...whatever you wanna call it I'm still that bitch." The win is especially impactful considering the conservative nature of Indiana residents. Jefferson's population is about 80% white, and 57% of adults voted Republican in the 2020 election.
