Just this Sunday, a new law criminalizing gender-affirming care for individuals under 19 years of age went into effect in Alabama. That new law makes anyone found providing puberty blockers, hormone therapy, or any other gender-affirming care guilty of a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
