It seems like 2023 is going to be a good year for the queer community. Be it literature, movies, or events, this year is going to treat the community with the best content and experiences without fail. Talking about the best experiences and events, one of the essential organizations working for the upliftment of the community, the National LGBTQ Task Force is completing 50 years of advocacy of LGBTQ Rights, activism, and organizing for the LGBTQ+ community.
This milestone year will recognize and celebrate the Task Force’s rich history of driving progress within the LGBTQ+ community, from its early days lobbying the American Psychiatric Association to remove homosexuality as a mental illness and advocating for AIDS funding to longstanding campaigns to Queer the Census, Queer the Vote, work for trans rights, fight for reproductive justice and bring an intersectional approach to the LGBTQ movement.
On the occasion of this historic moment, the Task Force will hold special events this year.
The Task Force’s 50th-anniversary celebrations will start with the 2023 Creating Change Conference from February 17 to February 21 at Hilton Hotel Union Square, San Francisco, California to celebrate gay rights and the LGBTQ culture.

The special broadcast was in the middle of the National LGBTQ Task Force Gala and stories included the importance of the November 8 Midterm elections, the special honorees, charities that benefited, and covering major 2023 events including the Creating Change Conference in San Francisco in February, and the Winter Party Festival in March.
Reputed queer guests will be attending this event including, Angelica Ross, transgender rights activist, and star of FX’s POSE, and Amy Schneider, the most successful female contestant in Jeopardy! History, X González, a gun violence prevention activist and LGBTQ+ rights advocate, and more.
The 50th Anniversary celebration will continue in Miami Beach at the 30th Annual Winter Party Festival. This will be a week-long series of events benefiting the LGBTQ+ community locally and nationally, from March 1 to March 7 in Miami Beach, FL.
The Task Force will conclude its year with a premier annual celebration of South Florida’s LGBTQ+ community in October 2023. It will be an opportunity for queer people and their supporters to celebrate 50 years of community, history, and work advancing equality for all LGBTQ+ people and their families.
While the Task Force is leaving no stone unturned to make the year count, the LGBTQ+ community can dare to have high expectations from this year in terms of entertainment and experiences, a lot will be happening this year, adding value to the rich LGBTQ culture across the world.

The inaugural Pride of the Americas will be unlike any Pride festival you’ve attended: Most Pride of the Americas 2023 events will be held on or near the pristine beaches and signature waterways. Guests will have many opportunities to discover why Fort Lauderdale is known as the “Venice of America.”

Chicago Pride – June 2023
Chicago Pride Fest is a 2-day festival that leads up to the Chicago Pride Parade with up to 100,000 participants expected, celebrating LGBTQ+ life, culture, and community. The Parade will take place from Broadway & Montrose, stretching over a 4-mile route with over 150 entries. Chicago is expecting crowds of over one million.
