The United Church of Christ in Kansas City, Missouri, recently created a display to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community in the area. The display consisted of 6 doors in rainbow colors on the lawn of the church, each one with a word making the statement, "God's Doors Are Open To All." Late last week, church members woke up to hateful vandalism of the display. The words "to all" were painted over, and giant letters splashed across the doors said "Pervs" and "Repentance". Mayor Quinton Lucas retweeted the image posted by a resident saying, "This is disgusting and has no place in Kansas City." The whole community showed up to help repair the damage, and Switzer Brothers Painting owners and their 5 children brought paints and brushes to help make sure it got done.
