Dave Chappelle's Netflix special "The Closer" received significant backlash due to transphobic jokes made during the comedy act. Despite that, the special was still nominated for two Primetime Emmys this week. In the comedy special, Chappelle argues against the comparison between the LGBTQ+ rights movement and the civil rights of the black community. Tonight, we discuss if there is support for the LGBTQ+ community within the black community, and very specifically if there is support for the transgender members of our community.
