For Trans Awareness Week We Celebrate Trans Equality Awards November 17

The Bishop SF Makalani-MaHee Leadership Award ceremony is starting on November 17. The award ceremony will cover various categories including the Transmasculine Individual / Transgender Man category, Trans Feminine Individual / Transgender Woman category, Nonbinary Individual category, Trans ALLY - Person category, Trans ALLY - Healthcare Provider category, and the Lifetime Achievement Award. The venue of this award event will be Hunters Night Club at Wilton Manors, FL. The award ceremony will start with Adrianna Tender introducing the hostesses of the event. The motto of the event is recognizing and honoring the Trans Siblings. Known trans personalities in Florida are nominated under every category of the award. Winners under all categories are already selected and they will be awarded at the event on November 17. This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Judith (Jodi) Reichman, Managing Director at South Florida Transgender Medical Consortium. November 20 will be dedicated to the TDOR (Transgender Day Of Remembrance) Program, for which the gathering point will be Justin Flippen Park at 6 PM and the walk will start at 6:15 PM from Wilton Drive towards the pride center, dropping a rose as the crowd walk by the Mural of Transgender individuals Murdered. Known and reputed speakers from the community are invited for the talk at the Pride Center.
