Gov Ron Desantis tries to punish Orlando venue that hosted Christmas drag show

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has filed a complaint against the Orlando Philharmonic Plaza Foundation Incorporated, seeking to take away its liquor license as punishment for hosting a drag show that children were allowed to attend. The complaint took issue with the fact that the drag show was advertised as all-ages and said the notice warning about inappropriate content was barely visible. Former Florida legislator Carlos Guillermo Smith criticized the move as a misuse of regulatory power. Some members of the LGBTQ+ community expressed concern that the action was a way to further marginalize their community.
