The term "grooming" has been gaining popularity for several years now when discussing the LGBTQ+ community. The phrase is defined as "the action by a pedophile of preparing a child for a meeting, especially via an internet chat room, with the intention of committing a sexual offense." It is a term gaining popularity in conservative areas -- like Florida -- when discussing LGBTQ+ content in classrooms. The term has been used by Governor DeSantis to describe opponents to the "Don't Say Gay" bill, and Queer News Tonight reported recently when the Lieutenant Governor of Florida used the term repeatedly in a tweet.
