The contact form on the White House website now includes a place to name your pronouns. The commitment may seem small but is a gigantic symbol to the LGBTQ community.
Today is the dawn of a new era — or the continuation of one after a four-year pause that included so much trauma, pain, and misery. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have only been officially in office for a few days and already, we’re seeing hopeful signs of better days ahead. The contact form on the White House website now has a dropdown menu to choose your pronouns. In January 2016 news outlets across America were reporting different news about WhiteHouse.gov. They were reporting that all links and mentions of the LGBTQ community had been removed. What a difference a 4 years make.
