President Biden calls for global support of the LGBTQ+ community at the UN General Assembly.
This morning, President Biden spoke at the U.N. General Assembly. He spoke out for changes to fight Climate Change, discussed the 'dysfunctional' relationship between the US and China, and called for global unity to fight the pandemic. He also spoke in support of LGBTQ+ rights globally saying, “We all must defend the rights of LGBTQI individuals." In his speech he specifically cited anti-LGBTQ crackdowns in Chechnya and Cameroon. He spoke after Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who is a vocal opponent of LGBTQ rights, addressed the General Assembly.
