Japan's New Prime Minister Could Herald A 'Historic Moment' For LGBTQ+ Rights
Today, the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan chose the successor for the former Prime Minister. Fumio Kishida, the former foreign minister, was chosen. He is known for supporting populist ideals such as easing wealth divisions, and has also promised to be open about LGBTQ+ issues and listen to arguments involving the country's policies. Currently in Japan, marriage is defined as based on the “mutual consent of both sexes”.
