Doritos Ad For Dia de los Muertos Gives Us 'LIFE'. Literally.
Día de los Muertos, the holiday where Mexican and Latin American communities honor their deceased loved ones, is coming up and Doritos has released a new ad celebrating LGBTQ+ pride. On the Day of the Dead, families create ofrendas, an altar to remember their late loved ones that create a bridge between the afterlife and the living world so that the family can be reunited once again. In Doritos Mexico's new Spanish commercial, a family goes to visit their Uncle Alberto. All of a sudden, his spirit appears alongside one of a mystery man. When the family asks who the man is, Alberto answers, "He's Mario. My partner." At first some of the family seems shocked, but then Alberto's sister claps and cheerfully announces, “What a miracle! I thought he would be alone forever.” The Commercial ends with the messages "Nunca es Tarde Para Ser Quien Eres" and #OrgulloTodoElAño. Those messages translate to "It’s never too late to be your true self" and #PrideAllYear.
