Massive corporations that often have a history of discriminatory policies or affiliations with anti-LGBTQ+ politicians — try to use the rainbow flag as a Band-Aid to cover up all their insidious behavior during the rest of the year. There's a word for this: rainbow-washing. A perfect example of this is CVS Health. They have flouted their rainbow avatars on social media and signed the HRC statement opposing LGBTQ+ laws, while at the same time they have donated almost $260,000 since 2019 to members of Congress with a Zero rating on the HRC congressional scorecard. Other companies that have donated to anti-trans legislation while flying rainbows include Comcast, AT&T, Walmart, and General Motors.
